Man facing trial of abducting and abusing woman while holding her captive
A man is facing trial accused of abducting a woman and then sexually assaulting her while holding her captive.
Muhammad Abdullah Nazir is said to have preyed on the woman and "detained her against her will" in Paisley, near Glasgow.
He is accused of locking her in a car, manhandling her and sexually abusing her within a car in the Renfrewshire town's Underwood Road.
Nazir, of Glasgow's Govanhill area, appeared in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court for a pre-trial hearing on Friday.
He denies a single charge under Sections 3 and 7(1) of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009.
The charge states he "did abduct and sexually assault" the woman, who can't be named for legal reasons.
Court papers state he locked the doors of the car and refused to unlock them, and placed his hands behind her head.
He is also said to have pulled her towards him, attempted to kiss her on the mouth and neck and pushed her against his car door.
The charge also states he "repeatedly" put his hand on her thigh, moved it up her leg, touched her private parts and pulled his trousers and pants down.
He is also accused of repeatedly trying to put her hand on his privates and detaining her "against her will" during the alleged incident, on November 1, 2025.
Prosecutors claim he did it "intentionally and for the purposes of obtaining sexual gratification or of humiliating, distressing or alarming her".
He denies directing a sexual verbal communication at her by making sexual remarks towards her, and pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared in the dock.
Sheriff Amel Elfallah adjourned the case until later this year for a trial to take place, and scheduled a further pre-trial hearing.
