A man has been remanded in custody after being charged with murder over the Christmas Day death of a man.

Felix Thrust appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court this afternoon to face two charges following the death of Dean Kennedy.

Thrust, 36, was detained by Police Scotland officers probing the death of 38-year-old Kennedy on December 25.

Kennedy was found stricken in Napiershall Street, in Glasgow's west end, at around 11.40pm on Thursday, Christmas Day.

He was taken to the city's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, and an investigation was launched.

Detectives detained Thrust and he appeared in court in private today, Monday, December 29, 2025.

He made no plea to the two charges he faces - murder and assault - and was remanded in custody.

The case against him was continued for prosecutors to investigate further. No future court dates have been set.

Thrust, of no fixed abode, is expected to make a second court appearance in connection with the case next week.

Tributes poured in for Kennedy after his death, with heartbroken loved ones taking to social media to pay their respects.

One said: "Rest easy my good friend taken from our streets but not our hearts. Gutted." Another posted: "RIP Deano mate thoughts are with family".

A third said: "What a gem of a boy he was honestly. Can't believe it." A fourth wrote: "His poor family. RIP young chap fly high with your angels".

A further tribute said: "So sad, what a horrible world we live in. RIP. Poor guy. So sorry for his family and friends."
