A man has appeared in court following a £77,000 drug bust.
Andrew Love was detained by Police Scotland officers following an operation at a property in Knockbuckle Avenue, Kilmacolm.
The 31-year-old was taken into police custody on Monday, March 30, 2026, and held overnight until appearing in the dock at Greenock Sheriff Court today, Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
He made no plea to the four charges against him - two of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs, one of attempting to pervert the course of justice, and one of assault.
The case against him was continued for prosecutors to investigate further and he was released on bail.
No future court dates have been set, but he is expected to go on trial over the claims next year.
Following his arrest, Police Scotland said: "Drugs with an estimated street value of more than £75,000 have been recovered in Kilmacolm.
"Around 5pm on Monday, 30 March, 2026, officers from the Inverclyde Priority Policing Team attended at a property on Knockbuckle Avenue and recovered cocaine with an estimated value of £77,000.
"A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 31 March, 2026."
Sergeant Gary Arthur added: “Drugs are a blight on our community, and we remain committed to disrupting their supply and this was a significant recovery that has been kept from our streets.
“We encourage anyone with information or concerns about drug-related activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
