A police probe is underway after a biker was rushed to hospital when his motorcycle was involved in a crash with a car.

The 68-year-old was riding his green Herald Classic 250cc motorcycle when he was involved in a crash with a black Hyundai Tuscon car.

The collision took place on the B942, near Pittenweem, Leven, in Fife, yesterday morning, Monday, May 11, 2026.

The crash took place at around 7.50am, and officers are now appealing to the public for witnesses or any footage which might exist.

The motorcyclist was rushed to Ninewell's Hospital, in Dundee, where he received treatment for serious injuries, including a punctured lung and broken ribs.

The road was closed in both directions for three hours while police officers investigated the incident, which saw the Hyundai driver go uninjured.

Sergeant Lee Walkingshaw said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, or was driving in the area at the time and saw either vehicle prior, to get in touch with officers.

“I’d also ask those with dash-cam footage review this to see if it has captured anything of significance that could assist with our investigation.”
