Police probe launched after elderly man dies after being found injured on Scots street

A police probe has been launched after a man who was found injured on a Scots street passed away.
The 74-year-old was discovered in Glasgow's Baillieston area on Friday afternoon.
An investigation into his death is now underway and officers are appealing for any potential witnesses to come forward.
The alarm had been raised at around 5.50pm on Friday after the stricken pensioner was found in the city's Maxwell Street.
A post on the Police Scotland Greater Glasgow Facebook page read: "Officers are appealing for information after a man was found injured in Baillieston.
"Around 5.50pm on Friday, December 5, 2025, we received a report of a man with serious injuries on Maxwell Street, near to its junction with Main Street.
"Emergency services attended, but the man, aged 74, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin are aware.
"The death is being treated as unexplained pending the results of a post mortem examination which will be carried out in due course."
Detective Sergeant Graham Clarke added: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time and our enquiries are ongoing into the full circumstances.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have information that could assist with our investigation to contact officers.
“We’d also ask that those who live locally who have private CCTV or dash-cam footage review this to see if it has captured anything of significance.”
