Winds of up to 75-miles-per hour are set to hit Scotland today - with the Met Office warning that roads could be closed and flights and ferries cancelled.
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning, between 4pm today, Thursday, November 27, 2025, and 11am tomorrow, Friday, November 28, 2025.
The warning covers western and northern Scotland, amid a forecast of very strong southwesterly winds, with gusts of 60-70mph.
Some areas could see gusts of more than 75mph, with the Northern Isles, Western Isles, the West Highlands and Argyll and Bute affected.
The Met Office said there "is a good chance of longer journey times or cancellations as road, air and ferry services are affected" and warned of "difficult driving conditions".
The weather service said "high-sided vehicles on prone routes, such as cross winds on exposed or high level roads" would be at risk.
It also said there is "a good chance that some roads and bridges could close" and "a slight chance that power cuts may occur"
That could affect mobile phone coverage, and there's also a risk that buildings will be damaged and tiles could be blown from roofs.
A warning over "danger to life from flying debris" was also issued, as was a warning "that injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties".
CalMac, which operates ferries on the west coast, warned customers of potential weather disruption due to the high winds.
