A care home is still underwater after being flooded during Storm Boelo.

Staff at the Caledonia Care Home in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire, are having to wade through flood water to access the building.

But residents within the facility, which has 90 beds and provides residential, nursing and dementia care, are said to be fine.

Pictures from the care home this morning show the car park still full of water, with cars partially submerged.

The care home sits in a cul-de-sac just off the seaside town's Sidney Street, and the gardens of neighbouring properties are also still flooded.

Firefighters were pictured at the scene and in nearby streets this morning, as they pumped the flood water back into the sea.

Several fire engines and other Scottish Fire and Rescue Service vehicles were stationed in the area, as was a police car.

A post on the Caledonia Care Home Facebook page this morning said: "The services have been with us since last night.

"The fire brigade have a high power pump in action and the water is coming down, albeit slowly.

"Between the fire brigade and ambulance crews we are able to get staff in and out of the home and should we need to move a resident to hospital we can do so with ease.

"I would caution families about visiting unless urgent as at anytime our transport could be pulled for another emergency.

"As always please phone the home if you want to check on your loved one, although we will endeavour to keep you updated here in regards the flood."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews have worked throughout the night to pump water from an area of flooding that surrounded a care home on Sidney Street in Saltcoats during Storm Boelo.

"We were alerted at around 5.20pm on Sunday, 25 October to reports of flood water approximately four feet in depth with and restrictions in accessing the premises.

"One fire appliance, a high-volume pump and water rescue unit have been mobilised and remain on scene.

"A high-volume pump remains in place to remove huge volumes of water, with emergency arrangements in place for controlled and safe access to the building if required."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Emergency services are in attendance at an area of flooding around a care home on Sidney Street, Saltcoats, which was reported on Sunday evening, 25 October, 2026.

"Officers are working with partners to ensure the area is made safe and will remain on scene overnight to assist.

"Everyone within the care home has been accounted for and every effort is being made to ensure their safety.

"Road closures are in place on Sidney Street, Winton Circus, The Braes and Melbourne Road.

"Please avoid the area at this time."
