Watch as cops tail crooks through Scots streets in police chase over car theft spree
This is the moment police officers chase suspected car thieves through Scots streets following a spree of motor thefts.
The cops tailed the stolen black Vauxhall Corsa, which had cloned plates, after spotting it on Thursday night, October 22, 2026.
They then tailed the car before the occupants ditched the vehicle and took off on foot in a bid to escape from the officers.
They abandoned the car in Glasgow's Springhill area, but were caught with the help of police dogs and the force helicopter.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Throughout late September and October officers in Lanarkshire and Glasgow have been investigating a series of Housebreaking and theft of motor vehicles which have occurred across the region.
"The incidents generally occurred during the early hours of the morning and involved the suspects arriving in a small black car.
"Officers identified the small black car as a stolen vehicle; a black Vauxhall Corsa which was using “cloned” registration plates. Around 2330 on Thursday 22nd October 2026 "Glasgow Road Police sighted the vehicle and a pursuit commenced in the Tollcross, Greenfield and Queenslie areas of Glasgow.
"The vehicle was then abandoned by the occupants in the Springhill area. An extensive search of the area began involving our dogs and helicopter.
"Four males; two aged 23, one aged 25 and one aged 27 were found hiding in a variety of different areas and arrested.
"They were wanted for several outstanding dogmatters and have since been charged with several additional crimes. All four appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday 23rd October 2026. Enquiries into several linked incidents remain ongoing.
"Officers from different areas and units work together daily to tackle criminality like this and put people before the courts."
