Steven Daniel is behind bars after being charged with drug dealing and organised crime offences.
The 46-year-old was remanded in custody this afternoon, Thursday, August 27, 2026, after appearing in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
He faced five charges during his private hearing - one of agreeing to become involved in serious organised crime, and four alleged drugs offences.
Nicknamed Bonzo, and also known as Steven Peebles, he is accused of three charges of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.
The final drugs charge Daniel - said to be head of the Daniel crime family - faces alleged that he was involved in the production of controlled drugs.
He made no plea to the five charges and the case against him was continued for prosecutors to investigate further.
No future court dates have been set, but he is expected to appear in the dock again in connection with the case next week.
He was arrested at his home in the north of Glasgow yesterday, Wednesday, August 26, 2026, after officers swooped on the property.
Assistant Chief Constable David Ferry said: “The Chief Constable has made it clear that those intent on being involved in serious and organised crime will be brought to justice. This enforcement action underlines that commitment.
“We will continue to take strong action and to use every tool and tactic available to relentlessly pursue those involved in serious criminality who seek to profit from the harm and misery they cause to communities in Scotland.
