A teenager went on a crime spree which saw him terrorising shop workers - while on bail over nine other court cases.

Majed Adem left a man badly hurt during an assault in a shop and carried out a masked robbery at another store.

At the time of the offences Adem was on bail over cases at both Glasgow and Paisley Sheriff Courts.

As well as being on bail over two Glasgow and seven Paisley Sheriff Court cases, the then-17-year-old was subject to an undertaking to appear at Paisley over a tenth case.

The 18-year-old admitted his guilt over the incidents during a hearing at Paisley Sheriff Court.

On June 3, 2024, Adem went to the Day Today store in Wright Street, Renfrew, with his face masked.

He stole bottles of alcohol, vapes and cigarettes.

Four days later, on June 7, at the Co-Op store in Renfrew's Paisley Road, he stole a quantity of alcohol.

And at the same shop on the same day he assaulted a man by repeatedly pushing and pulling him ab then throwing a bottle at him.

The bottle hit him on the head and left him badly hurt. Claims that it had also left the victim scarred for life were deleted from the charge.

Court papers reveal he was granted bail over other cases at Glasgow Sheriff Court in April and August 2023, and at Paisley in May 2023, and February, March, April, twice, May and June 2024.

He was also subject to an undertaking to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court in July 2024.

He admitted his guilt previously and returned to the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court this week to be sentenced.

Advocate Kevin Jarvis said he was remanded in custody over an assault and robbery case from Glasgow Sheriff Court.

He said Adem had pleaded guilty to that case and was awaiting sentencing in the case, which is due to take place next month.

Sheriff Gillian Craig said: "The Glasgow matter is a more serious matter than this."

She deferred sentence further, until next month.

He is now due to be sentenced for the Paisley case after he learns his fate over the Glasgow matter.
