Attempted murder suspects in court after men rushed to hospital

Two attempted murder suspects have appeared in court after their alleged victims were rushed to hospital.
Douglas Kirkland Senior and Douglas Kirkland Junior were detained by Police Scotland officers following an alleged disturbance in Clydebank.
The incident saw men aged 27 and 31 taken to hospital for treatment.
Kirkland Senior, 46, and Kirkland Junior, 18,, were held by officers investigating the Friday afternoon incident.
They were held in police custody and appeared in te dock at Dumbarton Sheriff Court yesterday, Monday January 26, 2026.
The Kirklands, both of Clydebank, made no plea to the charges against them and were released on bail.
Kirkland Junior is charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon, while Kirkland Senior is only charged with attempted murder.
The cases against them were continued for prosecutors to investigate further, and no future court dates have been set.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.30pm on Friday, 23 January, 2026, we received a report of a disturbance involving four men on Singer Road, Clydebank.
"Emergency services attended and two men aged 27 and 31 were taken to hospital for treatment.
"A 46-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were arrested and charged in connection with the incident. They appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday, 26 January 2026.”
