Children's taekwondo teacher facing trial accused of rape, sex assaults and kill threats

A taekwondo teacher is facing trial accused of rape and numerous sex offences - and threatening to kill someone and dispose of their body.

Scott Wylie, who taught kids classes in Ayrshire, is also said to have boasted about how many people he had attacked, discharged a firearm, and sharpened a samurai sword while abusing a woman.

It's claimed that the 33-year-old also spoke about how he owned throwing knives and axes, and that he abused two partners and sexually abused a child and another woman.

Prosecutors claim he committed the offences between 2011 and 2025 at addresses in North and East Ayrshire.

Wylie pleaded not guilty to 13 charges when the case against him called at the High Court in Glasgow last week.

It's alleged that, between 2011 and 2012, he sent a 12-year-old girl naked pictures of himself in Stevenston, North Ayrshire.

He is also said to have repeatedly sent the girl indecent images of himself in 2012 and 2013, when she was aged 13 and 14.

In August 2023 he is alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman at a property in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire.

And he is accused of showing her naked pictures of himself and a woman the same month.

In May 2024, at an address in Irvine, he is accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive way towards his then partner.

Court papers claim he shouted and swore at her and made threats about the woman he is accused of abusing in Kilmarnock.

Between December 2023 and January 2024 he is accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive way towards another partner, at a property in Irvine, North Ayrshire.

The charge states he "did utter threats to kill a person and dispose of their remains" and claimed he "had committed various assaults".

The charge adds that he did "sharpen a Samurai sword, discharge pellets from a firearm and tell her that [he] owned throwing knives and axes".

He is alleged to have sexually assaulted her three times between December 2023 and January 2024.

Prosecutors claim once was at the Irvine property on an occasion in December 2023, another was at a property in West Kilbride, North Ayrshire, the same month, and that the third was at the Irvine property in December or January.

He is accused of recording her without her consent while she performed a consensual sex act on him in January 2024 in Irvine.

And he is accused of raping her at the Irvine property the following month, in February 2024.

The final charge Wylie faces is that he broke a bail condition banning him from approaching or contacting his alleged rape victim – by following her on Instagram.

At his pre-trial hearing last week, the case against Wylie was adjourned until next year for a trial to take place.

Wylie, now of Liberty Road, Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, maintains his innocence.
