EXCLUSIVE: Aberdeen fans probed by police over Premier Sports Cup pitch invasion

Aberdeen fans are being investigated by police over their pitch invasion at the weekend, Scotlight can reveal.
Dons fans streamed onto the field during their Premier Sports Cup victory over Kilmarnock on Saturday.
Dozens of supporters made their way onto the park to celebrate with the players after they triumphed on penalties.
Pictures show fans congratulating match winner Jack Milne after he smashed his penalty high into the net to send Aberdeen into the semi finals of the competition.
Another fan can be seen lifting Nigerian midfielder Afeez Aremu into the air, while another has his arm around former Celtic and Manchester United midfielder Stuart Armstrong.
As the Aberdeen ultras, clad in black, celebrated on the pitch, the Kilmarnock stadium announcer told them to leave the park.
And Police Scotland confirmed exclusively to Scotlight that an investigation is underway into the fans being on the pitch and setting off red flares during the game.
The scenes were broadcast live on Premier Sports, with pundit Michael Stewart branding them "idiots" over their antics.
The ex-Hearts and Hibernian midfielder said: "There's a few absolute idiots in front of the Kilmarnock support as well. Just get off.
"You've got a couple of stewards having to try and handle this on their own.
"It's going to kick off here. Absolute idiots!"
Clubs are supposed to inform the SPFL of any pitch invasions and associated criminality, with the governing body tasked with notifying Police Scotland of issues that need investigated.

It is unclear if Aberdeen have informed the SPFL of the pitch invasion, but sources say Kilmarnock have not notified the SPFL as their fans were not involved.
One source said: "It's up to Aberdeen to tell the SPFL about what happened as it involved their fans only.
"Kilmarnock fans weren't involved in what happened at the end of the game, so the onus isn't on them to raise the alarm."
Another said: "The scenes after the game weren't as ugly as the ones last season when Celtic and Rangers fans clashed.
"But it still shouldn't have happened and it should be investigated properly by the police and football governing bodies."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Enquiries are being carried out into a pitch invasion and pyrotechnic use at the Kilmarnock and Aberdeen game which took place on Saturday, 12 September, 2026."
On Sunday, the day after the Kilmarnock v Aberdeen game, Rangers hosted Celtic in the competition.
But no away fans were present at the match, due to disorder that stemmed from a pitch invasion by both sets of fans last season.
Hoops fans had spilled onto the pitch in celebration, resulting in Rangers fans streaming onto the park and confronting them.
Scotlight also contacted Aberdeen, Kilmarnock and the SPFL for comment on Saturday's pitch invasion.
Kevin Nisbet had given Aberdeen the lead in the clash with a fine header, which was cancelled out by Tyreece John-Jules.
He netted moments after Aberdeen's Dan Happe was sent off by Don Robertson.
Marius Muller saved three spot kicks before Milne slammed the ball into the roof of Killie keeper Max Stryjek's net to send Steven Robinson's side into the next round.
