Frantic police search for missing Scots woman who disappeared two days ago

A frantic police search is underway to trace a missing Scots woman who vanished from her home two days ago.

Rebecca McDonald, 42, was last seen just after 6pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in Inverness city centre.

She is from Balblair, on The Black Isle, and a Police Scotland search is now underway to locate her after she was reported missing.

Rebecca is 5ft 2ins tall, has shoulder length blonde hair and speaks with an accent local to the Highlands.

When she was last seen she was wearing black deck shoes, blue jeans and a dark t-shirt, and police are "becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare".

Inspector Daniel Jack said: "Enquiries are being carried out to trace Rebecca and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.

"We are appealing for anybody who may have seen her or had contact with her to get in touch with us."

A post on the Police Scotland Highlands & Islands Facebook page said: "Officers are appealing for the help of the public to trace a woman missing from Balblair on The Black Isle.

"Rebecca MacDonald, 42, was last seen within the city centre area of Inverness shortly after 6pm on Tuesday 14th April 2026.

"She is described as being around 5 foot 2 inches tall with shoulder length blonde hair. She speaks with a local accent.

"She was last seen wearing a dark t-shirt, blue jeans, and black deck shoes.
