Frantic search launched to track down man missing from Scots city

A mahunt is underway to track down a man who has been missing from a Scottish city for nearly two weeks.
Husayin Simsek has been reported missing from Edinburgh, and Police Scotland officers have appealed to the public for help to locate him.
The 50-year-old was reported missing yesterday, Friday, January 30, 2026 - 12 days after he was last seen.
The force said the last sighting of the 50-year-old was in the capital's Dalry Road area at around 8pm on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
It is not known what he is wearing, but hhe is described as being around 6ft tall with black hair and an athletic build.
Officers say he has access to a white BMW series 3 saloon, which has the registration YA69 KWF, and that officers are keen to trace this vehicle.
Inspector Ross Nicol said: “We are asking anyone who has seen him or knows where he might be to get in touch.
“Anyone who can help is asked not to approach Husayin but to call Police Scotland immediately on 101, quoting incident number 3339 of Friday, 29 January, 2026.”
