Grant McKinnon makes second court appearance over murder of gran Elizabeth Colligan

Grant McKinnon has made his second court appearance over the murder of his gran, Elizabeth Colligan.

The 30-year-old, of no fixed abode, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday, Thursday, April 30, 2026.

He was fully committed for trial during the behind-closed-doors hearing, where he faced two charges.

He made no plea to the charges he faces - murder and an alleged breach of the Communications Act 2003.

He was remanded in custody over the claims. No future court dates have been set but he is expected to go on trial over the claims at some point next year.

He made his first court appearance over the murder of the 82-year-old, in Glasgow's Carntyne area, last Wednesday, April 23, 2026.

He was detained by Police Scotland officers on Tuesday, April 22, 2026, following a four-day manhunt.

Elizabeth, who was known as Betty, was found dying in the street in Glasgow's Carntyne area in the early hours of Saturday, April 19, 2026.

The emergency services were called to Cardowan Road at around 4am, where the former lollipop lady was found stricken.
