Heartbreaking tributes paid to "wonderful" teenager after fatal road crash

A tragic teenager who passed away in a two-car crash on a Scots road has been hailed as "wonderful" by his devastated family.
Kerr Paterson, of the Fife village of Saline, died in Kelty after a crash involving his blue Toyota Aygo and a yellow Volkswagen Golf.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the crash, which took place on the B914 near to Kelty, in the early hours of Sunday, July 5, 2026.
And Kerr's family have paid tribute to the 17-year-old in a heartfelt statement, as the police probe into his death continues.
His loved ones said: "We are devastated by the loss of Kerr. He was a wonderful, hardworking young man with a bright future ahead of him.
"He meant the world to us, his parents, his two brothers and sister, and to his many family and friends, and we are struggling to come to terms with this tragic loss.
"Kerr had a deep passion for stock car racing. He truly loved it, and it brought him great happiness.
"He was proud of what he achieved in the sport, and those memories will stay with us forever.
"We would like to thank the police officers who have supported us throughout this incredibly difficult time.
"Their kindness, compassion, and professionalism have been a great comfort, and we are deeply grateful for everything they have done.
"We have been overwhelmed by the messages of love, support, and condolences we have received, and we thank everyone for their kindness.
"As a family, we respectfully ask that our privacy is respected as we grieve, support one another, and remember Kerr."
The fatal collision took place around 2.25am, near the junction with the A823, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Sergeant Lee Walkingshaw said: O"ur thoughts remain with the family and friends of Kerr and they have asked for time to come to terms with what has happened.
"We are continuing to appeal for information and asking anyone who can assist and who has not yet spoken to officers to get in touch.
"If you were driving in the area at the time please check any dash-cam footage you might have to see if something has been captured that could help with our investigation."
