The House of Gods hotel in Glasgow has reopened following a horror fire at the weekend.

The venue and neighbouring Revolver hotel were evacuated after fierce flames took hold of properties in the city's Virginia Street, Wilson Street and Glassford Street on Saturday.

And today, Tuesday, December 30, 2025, House of Gods reopened.

Founder Mike Baxter revealed the reopening in an Instagram post.

The video said: "After a brief interruption to our regularly scheduled debauchery we are delighted to confirm we are back."

The reel contained a clip of Leonardo Di Caprio playing Jordan Belfort in the hit 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street.

The caption on the post read: "They say the comeback is always stronger than the setback... Come find out.

"Business as usual. Rooms ready. Cocktails pouring and music on.

"Thanks to the lightning-fast response of Glasgow's finest, House of Gods came out unscathed. We're beyond grateful."

The post also teased "a rather special announcement" which is set to be revealed later."

Police officers and firefighters were stationed at the scene following the fire, with Wilson Street shut off to the public as huge cranes remained in place.

But the emergency services were later stood down.

Police Scotland have said the fire is not being treated as a deliberate blaze.

And the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said a probe will begin soon.

A spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 6.19pm on Saturday, 27 December to reports of a fire within a commercial premises on Virginia Street, Glasgow.

"At its height, Operations Control mobilised six appliances to the scene and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting the fourth floor of a four-storey building.

“Residents of nearby buildings were evacuated as a precautionary measure and all persons were accounted for. There were no reported casualties.

“An investigation to establish the cause of the fire will commence in the coming days”.
