An attack victim "looked like something out of a zombie film" after being set upon in a Scots seaside street attack.
He was seen staggering in the middle of the road covered in blood after being set upon in a seaside town.
The 44-year-old swayed backwards and forwards and nearly fell in front of traffic after being attacked in Ardrossan, Ayrshire, last/on Thursday night.
Blood was seen pouring from wounds on his head and face as he walked along the town's Princes Street.
He was carrying his shirt, which appeared to be a blue Rangers top, in his hand, while blood ran down the side of his head and onto his face.
And he was seen to be arguing with a man in a red t-shirt as he made his way from the shore front to the nearby Ardrossan Town train station.
A source said: "It was like something out of a zombie film. He was staggering up the middle of the road, topless, swaying from side to side and covered in blood.
"He was screaming and shouting and arguing with a guy behind him, while a woman was trying to calm the other guy down.
"It looked like they had been at the beach and were headed back towards the train station and the main street.

"The guy was in a bad way. The police were called and officers were there quite quickly.
"They then had to wait on an ambulance and the guy was waiting for ages for the paramedics to arrive.
"He was sitting on the ground next to Ardrossan Town station for ages while they waited on the ambulance.
"It took about an hour to arrive and then he got treated."
As part of the police probe into the incident, part of the promenade, opposite the former Barony St John on Arran Place, was cordoned off.
A police car with an officer inside sat at the cordon, which was removed around the same time as officers and paramedics left the scene after treating the man.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.15pm on Thursday, 25 June, 2026, we were called to a report of a man injured on Princes Street in Ardrossan.
"Emergency services attended and the 44-year-old man was checked at the scene.
"A 36-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man were arrested and charged in connection.
"They are due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date."
The Scottish Ambulance Service was also approached for comment.
