Police search for "dangerous" missing man as officers warn "do not approach"

A manhunt is underway as police try to track down a "dangerous" missing man - with officers warning "do not approach".

Grant McKinnon has been missing from Glasgow since 4am yesterday, Saturday, April 18, 2026.

Police Scotland has appealed to the public for information to help track him down - and warned people to stay away from them.

Anyone who sees him is urged to contact police immediately, by calling 999 rather than the non-emergency 101 number.

He is described as white, 6ft tall and slim, with a shaved head. When he was last seen he was wearing blue jeans.

The 30-year-old also had on a black jacket which had either a red hood or red lining in the hood.

The last sighting of him was in Cardowan Road, in the east end of the city.

Detective Superintendent Gary Ferguson said: “Grant is considered to be dangerous and I’m appealing for information from the public to help us trace him as soon as possible.

“If anyone sees Grant, they should not approach him but contact police immediately.

“Anyone with information on where he may be, or anyone who thinks they’ve seen him since the early hours of Saturday morning, should call 999 urgently quoting reference 0523 of 18 April.

“Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
