Police have released fresh pictures of a missing man - and sai it is believed he may be in the Highlands.

A missing persons probe was launched yesterday, Saturday, February 7, 2026, after Neil Fordyce was reported missing from Fife.

The 41-year-old, of the village of Windygates, was last in contact with his family on Friday afternoon.

And today, Sunday, February 8, 2026, Police Scotland released more information on his disappearance along with new pictures.

Images shared by the force show him inside a shop and at a train station, and they said that is how he mae his way north.

It's believed he was last seen in the Achnashellach area of Wester Ross around 12.40pm on Saturday, 7 February, 2026.

When last seen he was wearing black jogging bottoms, a black coat and a red and blue knitted hat and was carrying a large rucksack.

Inspector Alasdair Young said: "We are growing increasingly concerned for Neil and want to make sure he is ok.

"We believe he has travelled from Kirkcaldy to Achnashellach by train, going via Perth and Inverness, and are looking to speak to anyone that may have spoken to him or remembers seeing him. We believe he then exited the train station on foot, walking along the A890.

"It is very unusual for him to be out of contact with his family and friends for this length of time. Anyone with any information on Neil's whereabouts should contact police."

Any information can be passed to officers via 101, quoting incident number 1340 of 7 February, 2026.
