A domestic abuse thug is facing jail for terrorising two of his ex-partners.

Scott McKinney abused one of his former partners at his former home and her property.

And he also harassed a different ex after she split from him.

McKInney, of Renfrew, is awaiting sentence over the incidents at two different courts.

The cases against him called at both Ayr Sheriff Court and Paisley Sheriff Court this week.

Between December last year and January this year he hounded a woman, in her hometown of Cumnock, East Ayrshire.

He bombarded her with social media messages, phone calls and voicemails and refused to stop when asked.

Ayr Sheriff Court heard he relentlessly asked her if she was in a relationship with anyone and if she had a new partner.

And he repeatedly contacted someone he believed she was dating, messaging the unnamed person on Instagram and Snapchat.

McKinney previously pleaded guilty to a charge of breaking Section 1 of the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act 2018 by engaging in a course of conduct which was abusive of his ex-partner.

As part of his guilty plea, several other allegations were deleted from the charge.

He was cleared of claims he also repeatedly contacted her mother and asked her to pass on messages and made unwanted payments to her bank account.

Claims that he requested a password reset so could gain access to her social media accounts, changed the profile names on her Netflix account, and sent her unwanted gifts were also dropped.

The 38-year-old is also awaiting sentence over the domestic abuse at Paisley Sheriff Court after terrorising a woman at his former home in Renfrew and her property in Bishopton.

He grabbed the woman in question's mobile phone from her and stabbed it with a knife.

He also shouted and swore at her and called her derogatory names.

The abuse took place when McKinney was living in a flat in Fulbar Lane, Renfrew, and saw him also pinning her to the ground and bursting her lip.

Another violent outburst saw him striking a bathroom door, and the abusive course of conduct saw him demanding to know where she was.

He also monitored her mobile phone, repeatedly looking at her messages, calls and pictures.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard that he sent a number of abusive and threatening voicemails to the woman.

And he also contacted her and members of her family on social media when she wanted to be left alone.

McKinney admitted his guilt earlier this year, also pleading guilty to breaking Section 1 of the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act 2018 over that abuse.

On Monday, sentencing in the Paisley case was further adjourned, as the sheriff presiding over it was unable to deal with it as planned.

On Tuesday, the Ayr case was also further adjourned, to await the outcome of the case in Paisley.

McKinney is set to learn his fate over both matters next month.
