A Scottish sex beast who called himself "Paedo Dave" online was jailed today for sending child abuse images to an undercover cop.
Paedophile David Munro was the subject of a court order which was supposed to stop him committing sex offences.
But he used Russian websites to send child abuse images to what he thought was another paedophile.
It turned out he was actually communicating with an undercover law enforcement officer.
The crimes took place just three months after he had been released from an earlier jail term imposed over child sex abuse images.
And he was locked up over the latest case when he appeared in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court today, Friday, February 13, 2026.
Sheriff Brian Mohan made him the subject of a four-year extended sentence, reduced from five years as he admitted his guilt.
The sentence is made up of a three-year jail term and a 12-month licence period once he is released back into the community.
He was also placed on the Sex Offenders' Register and made the subject of a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
That order will begin in March 2027, when the Sexual Offences Prevention Order he is already subject to expires.
As he jailed Munro, Sheriff Mohan said: "You know custody is the realistic disposal here, because of the gravity of the offences and your previous convictions.
"You were released only three months before this took place."
The court heard previously that he was in contact with other paedophiles around the world and was caught sending child abuse images to a cop acting as a decoy.
Munro, of Johnstone, Renfrewshire, boasted in chats - while using the username PaedoDave25 - that he was attracted to children as young as three.

The 56-year-old pleaded guilty to three charges - sending messages discussing child abuse, distributing child abuse images, and breaking a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.
He failed to declare to police that he had an electronic device capable of accessing the internet.
The offences were committed between January and April last year at Munro's home in Johnstone.
Prosecutor Abigail McKenna said Munro had been talking to "an undercover online operative" named Jason.
The Procurator Fiscal Depute said Jason was "an undercover law enforcement operative allowed to take part in certain covert operations".
The court heard that Munro was using "a Russian-based picture website" and was using the username PaedoDave25.
Jason made contact with Munro and they exchanged messages.
Munro said he liked girls aged between three and 10 years old and had an interest in "hardcore" abuse images.
He then sent the undercover officer emails which contained links to abuse images stored online.
He was jailed for similar offences in 2023 after the same court heard had used his Xbox to access the internet.
He then gained access to a site where he openly expressed his sexual interest in young kids and spoke of his desire to meet children to sexually abuse.
He was jailed for 27 months after admitting he did “distribute or show” indecent photographs of children to others online as part of that case.
And in 2018 he was also jailed for 27 months at Paisley Sheriff Court case after distributing movies depicting the sexual abuse of youngsters over the internet to other paedophiles.
He was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years following that case.
