A suspect has been arrested over the shotgun murder of a young Scots dad - three months on from the killing.

The 58-year-old was detained by Police Scotland officers following a raid in Motherwell this morning, Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Officers executed warrants in the North Lanarkshire town's Muirhouse Road and took the suspect in for questioning.

Jordan, 26, was gunned down at his home in the Muirhouse area of Motherwell on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

He was shot around 10.30pm but his body was not discovered until the following day, Monday, December 15, 2025.

Heartbreaking tributes were paid to Jordan as the police probe into his death got underway in December.

Claire Kerr, the mother of his son, wrote: "Cannie believe a need to write this but R.I.P. Jordan Gray.

"We had our ups and downs but we have a beautiful baby boy together that is your absolute image.

"I promise I will always tell your son all about you and how much you loved him."

And Laura Langford posted: "Absolutely heartbreaking news. Rest easy Jordan Gray.

"What a character you were, boy, one of a kind. Always remembered.

"Thinking of your family and new born son at this sad time. Rest easy."

Less than a week before his death, Jordan shared his love for his newborn son online, posting a picture of the tot on social media.

He wrote: "My beautiful boy. Daddy loves you so much and I'll be down tomorrow to see you son. Love you to infinity and beyond."
