Newly-elected MSP Dr Q Manivannan is in the clear over "racist" tweets.
The self-described "transgender Tamil immigrant" was reported to police after being slammed over posts about "white people" and "white men".
The Indian national, who is in Scotland on a student visa, posted on Twitter in February 2023, said: "Goddamn White people".
In April 2023 the politician, who identifies as non-binary, wrote: "Next time I see a #anthropocene from a white man I will sob in hypocrisy".
And, in September 2023, after Twitter had rebranded to X, the then-student said: "Ah white people at it again".
Police Scotland were asked to act after Scottish Conservative Deputy Leader Rachael Hamilton hit out at the Edinburgh and Lothians East representative's remarks.
She said: “These inflammatory comments are unacceptable, and the Greens should never have selected a candidate voicing what most people will see as blatantly racist views.”
A report was made to Police Scotland via an online reporting form, flagging the PhD graduate's posts as a racist hate crime.
But Police Scotland said the report against the Scottish Green rep was looked into and that nothing will currently be done.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report which was assessed and there will be no further police action at this time.”
Social media was also awash with criticism of the comments, which came at a time when Dr Manivannan is understood to have been a PhD student in Scotland.
After screenshots of the posts began to circulate online, Dr Manivannan's X account was made private - then purged of followers.

At the time of being elected, the account had more than 2,000 followers.
But all followers were removed from the account, meaning nobody could see the content of it as it was private.
One X user said: "Q Manivannan has now removed every follower from the account. We need to ask: what is being hidden?"
As of today, Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the account had two followers. It is unclear who they are as the account is still private.
A post on the doctor's Instagram account last week said there had been "invasive attention in regards to my immigration status, including misinformation".
A post yesterday/on Monday, read: "Despite the many distractions being centered in the media, the Scottish Greens are hard at work representing our constituents — and we mean everyone, even those who dislike us.
"We are engaging in urgent action on the cost-of-living crisis, social care improvements, environmental protection, pressing the Scottish Government on policy commitments, pushing the Parliament on its work towards addressing the recommendations of the Dignity at Work report, and engaging with local councils and stakeholders across Scotland.
"Despite diversity being at the centre of our ethos, there’s much more that we’re working to address in our communities.
"So every time you see culture wars re-emerge in public discourse, know that it likely means there’s bigger issues being hidden. Keep highlighting the most pressing local and global issues you’d like us to work with, keep engaging with us, and most importantly, keep looking after one another."
The Scottish Greens did not respond to requests for comment on the Tweets, the X account being locked down and purged, or the Police Scotland probe.
