An urgent search has been launched to trace a 41-year-old man who was reported missing by his family.

The missing persons probe aims to track down Neil Fordyce, who is missing from the Windygates area of Fife.

His family have not heard from him since 3.40pm yesterday afternoon, Friday, February 6, 2026.

And Police Scotland appealed to the public today, Saturday, February 7, 2026, in a bid to track him down.

He is 5ft 9ins tall, of average build, with fair hair and stubble and was wearing black jogging bottoms when he was last seen.

He was also wearing a blue hooded jumper, a black body warmer and black trainers the last time he was seen.

Inspector Gordon Miller said: "We are growing concerned for Neil and want to make sure he is okay.

"It is very unusual for him to be out of contact with his family and friends, anyone with any information on Neil's whereabouts should contact police."

Any information can be passed to officers via 101, quoting incident number 1340 of 7 February, 2026.
